After World No.2 Alexander Zverev won a gruelling first set in a 7-6 (5) tiebreaker that lasted for one hour and 20 minutes, Novak Djokovic put his thumb up at the net and immediately shook hands with the German conceding the match. In his earlier quarterfinal encounter with Carlos Alcaraz, Djokovic had suffered an injury when the score was 4-All in the first set. There he came back to continue the match with his upper leg heavily taped and still won that match in 4 sets after losing the first. Later it was revealed that the injury he suffered during his match with Carlos was a muscle tear. Today too – in less than 48 hours of that injury incident – he came on to the court with a heavily strapped left upper leg and tried his level best to hang on in the match with the in-form Zverev, but just couldn’t continue this time after losing the first set in a tight tiebreak. In earlier rounds, prior to his victory over the No.3 seed and the youngest No.1 player in history Carlos Alcaraz, the 37-year-old Novak he had wins over some of the best Next Gen players like Tomas Machac & Jiri Lehecka at the AO this year. After putting such valiant efforts in the entire Australian Open tournament this year, it was very sad to see him withdrawing from the match against Zverev and walking away from Rod Laver Arena where he had won the trophy for an astounding ten times. More unfortunate was to see Djokovic, the greatest player in tennis history, getting booed off court by a section of the crowd in the stadium. That was really SHOCKING and even CRUEL. Certain bandwagon of tennis fans had become worse than football hooligans in the last few years. Very, very sad🥲🥲 Zverev, a fine person that he is, wanted to start his post-match speech by telling the crowd in the stadium to behave properly towards an injured player. He also asked them to be respectful and really show some love for Novak as well.! WOW😮😮😮That was truly some wonderful words of care, respect and compliment spoken by Zverev towards the 24-time Slam winner❤️❤️👌 While wishing a speedy recovery to Novak, Congratulations to Sascha and wish him the Very Best in the Championship match on Sun

Naravno!

Brz oporavak Novaku, a Zverevu želimo mnogo sreće u finalu!
