Kay Keogh claimed she was sent flirty messages from Tommy Fury online – but has now stepped forward to throw doubt on her own series of claims following his split from Molly-Mae Hague
The Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae Hague split drama has taken a new turn as a woman who claimed she flirted with the boxing star now says she was catfished.
Love Island fans were gobsmacked earlier this month when 25-year-old Molly-Mae announced she had split from Tommy after five years of being together, one of which was engaged, and little over a year after they welcomed their first child together. Tommy, 25, swiftly confirmed the news with a statement of his own, with both saying they were “heartbroken” over the decision.
Soon after, Tommy faced accusations he had been unfaithful during his romance with his fellow Love Island star. However, one woman who stepped forward to claim Tommy sent her flirty messages has suddenly changed her story.
Influencer Kay Keogh stunned fans of the couple when she made claims that she had received messages from Tommy. But in a new online update, she has suggested she was contacted by someone only pretending to be the boxing star.
Speaking out via TikTok, Kay said: “I obviously got catfished. Someone was basically, definitely trolling me because another fake account has messaged me and they’ve literally said to me ‘you actually thought that was him? that was me.’
“And obviously people are gonna be like ‘but you said you saw him?’ but like I said, I was really confused already. And it was also really weird that I was just in Manchester and we had gone to a private event and there was a group of guys and one of the guys could have passed for being him.”
She continued: “Like I said, I don’t even now know what he really looks like. I know he has brown hair and is like really muscly. But yeah this person has messaged me and basically told me they were trolling me.”
Her new version of events differs drastically from her original claims. She previously said: “I was thinking about whether I should make this video or not, but I am going to. So, me and my friends were out in Manchester and we actually met him [Tommy] one night.
“Basically, we were on a night out with a group of guys and I didn’t really put two and two together of who he really was. One of the guys asked for my Instagram, which I gave to him. We were all together, but basically after looking at my phone and seeing his name pop up, that’s when I realised who he was.”
She continued: “Obviously, after I saw his name pop up I was thinking ‘What the hell?’ Then I obviously realised who he was, but I literally have DMs and I don’t know whether I should put them out or not.”
