The reveal of the deep cut that forced Tyson Fury to postpone his much-anticipated undisputed heavyweight championship bout with Oleksandr Usyk had a profound impact on his wife, Paris.
Paris Fury shared this emotional experience through her Instagram stories, detailing the moment when Tyson showed her the significant gash over his right eye, sustained during a sparring session that formed part of his preparation for the originally scheduled Feb. 17 bout in Saudi Arabia.
He sounded so pissed off and disappointed, but this is boxing and these things can happen,” Paris wrote on Instagram.
“My full body was shaking with nerves when he showed me the cut, cus I wasn’t there with him.”
The couple, who have been married since 2008 and share seven children, have a deep connection that was evident in Paris’ reaction to Tyson’s injury.

The unexpected mishap occurred during a sparring session with Croatian fighter Agron Smakici, and video footage of the incident leaked and was shared by British radio station TalkSPORT.
The bout, set to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, aimed to crown the first undisputed heavyweight champion since 1999, with Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs) holding the IBF, WBA, and WBO belts.
Despite the setback, Fury apologized to everyone affected, including his team, Team Usyk, undercard fighters, partners, fans, and the hosts in Saudi Arabia.
As the possibility of rescheduling the bout looms, 37-year-old Usyk must fulfill an obligation to defend his IBF belt, which makes the calendar look all the more complex with regards to rescheduling the clash.
