During a recent course reconnaissance for Paris-Roubaix, Tadej Pogačar showcased his incredible form and technical prowess by setting or equalling the fastest times on Strava in three of the race’s iconic cobblestone sectors. Among them was the legendary five-star sector of Mons-en-Pévèle, one of the most feared and decisive stretches in the “Hell of the North.” Known for its brutal surface and punishing length, Mons-en-Pévèle has long been a proving ground for the world’s toughest cyclists. For Pogačar to match the fastest recorded time here is a bold statement ahead of his debut in the Monument.

The Slovenian superstar, already a two-time Tour de France winner and a dominant force in the classics, is leaving no stone unturned in his preparation. His aggressive recon pace not only demonstrates his fitness but also his serious intent to compete at the front in a race traditionally dominated by specialists in cobbled terrain. By mastering key sections of the route and pushing the limits during training, Pogačar is clearly positioning himself as a contender—even on terrain that is far from his natural alpine playground.

Fans are eagerly anticipating how his finesse and power will translate in the chaos of Roubaix, a race often shaped by crashes, mechanicals, and raw resilience. If his reconnaissance rides are any indication, Pogačar is more than ready to tackle the cobbles with both speed and style.
