Tyson Fury’s wife Paris has posted a sweet tribute to the former heavyweight champion after he suffered his first professional defeat in a controversial bout with Oleksandr Usyk.

Paris Fury has shared a gushing message for her husband, Tyson Fury, following his heavyweight title defeat to Oleksandr Usyk. The world watched with bated breath as the much-anticipated fight unfolded on Saturday night in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

However, Tyson, known as the ‘Gypsy King’, was dethroned when Usyk, hailing from Ukraine, emerged victorious on points after a critical ninth-round knockdown.

Reacting to his first loss, 35-year-old Fury contested the verdict, stating: “I believe I won that fight, I think he won a few of those rounds but I won the majority of them. His country is at war, so people are siding with the country at war. Make no mistake, I won that fight in my opinion.”

Amid speculation of a rematch, Paris, 34, who is the mother of Fury’s seven children, has expressed her deep concern for his safety in the ring and has been vocal about her desire for him to hang up his gloves for good.

Despite her fears, Paris showcased her unwavering support by posting a nostalgic photo of the couple on her Instagram stories, accompanied by a heartfelt caption: “19 and 20 on this [photo] newly married, love him more than ever, best man in my eyes.”

In her regret for not attending the recent fight, and hinting that she may be the champion’s lucky charm, Paris Fury confessed: “Will never not be at your side for a fight again. Even though I couldn’t be there, I wished I was.”

In support of her husband, she reemphasised their wedding vows: “To have and to hold from this day forward, for better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, til death do us part, according to God’s holy law @tysonfury.”

Paris is said to have put her foot down on Tyson Fury’s fighting career, urging the world champion to permanently step away from the harsh lights of the ring, for the sake of their family and his well-being.

In 2022, Tyson did initially retire, boasting an astonishing record of 33 victorious matches and a single draw across a span of 14 years. However, grappling with poor mental health when he wasn’t training for bouts convinced him to re-enter the boxing ring.

On their popular Netflix show ‘At Home with the Furys’, Paris expressed her anxiety regarding Tyson’s dangerous profession. She opened up about the immense stress she experiences in the lead up to one of his fights, as the worry that an ill-timed hit could potentially prove fatal for the father of her seven children.

Ahead of his upcoming fight, Tyson Fury revealed to the Mail on Sunday his wife Paris’s fears for him, saying: “If Paris was going into something and I knew she could die at any moment in time, I would be nervous too. So, pretty daunting task looking death right between the two eyes every time you climb into a boxing ring. But it’s something we get on with.”

“I earn a lot of money. I get danger money and I am well paid for it. We know the risk going in and it is what it is. Nobody wants me to box anymore in my family. I’ve got too much to lose. But, it’s something I like to do so the ball keeps rolling.”
