Jake Paul is keen on a rematch with Tommy Fury, who beat the YouTuber by split decision last year, and took a dig at him over his recent breakup with fellow Love Island star Molly-Mae Hague
Jake Paul has taken a fresh swipe at Tommy Fury, calling him a “dumbass” and offering his ex-fiancee Molly-Mae Hague a job.
Fury, who beat Paul by split decision last year, was dumped by Molly-Mae earlier this month amid allegations of cheating. And Paul has now taken aim at Fury in the wake of his split, aiming a dig at the boxer for rejecting the chance to fight him in a lucrative rematch.
Paul is set to fight boxing legend Mike Tyson on November 15 in an event that will be broadcast live on Netflix, with the 58-year-old returning to the ring after Fury turned down the opportunity.
“He definitely continues to devalue himself over time,” Paul said when asked about his rival. “Saying no to the Netflix opportunity was probably the dumbest thing a boxer in history has done.
“You literally have the opportunity to fight on the biggest platform and now… his value just keeps on going down. He’s gonna need extra money now and all that. The price and offers on our end are going to keep going down.
“But definitely feel bad for him but also, you’re a dumbass.”
Paul recently launched his own line of men’s health products called ‘W’ alongside UFC bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley and teased the idea of recruiting Molly-Mae as a brand ambassador following her split with Fury.
“It’s not a bad idea, Molly-Mae – we’re going to bring you in on W,” he said. “I just hope they’re figuring it out and figuring it out with the kid and stuff like that. But, I’m still going to beat his ass as a single father.”
Although Paul is currently focused on his controversial fight against a 58-year-old Tyson, the YouTuber has vowed to “wipe the floor” with Fury and avenge the sole loss on his record. “I need to do that, all the fans want it,” he added.
“It’s a massive fight, it was a good fight. So, I need to go back and avenge my loss and for me that will be very pleasurable and I believe that I will wipe the floor with Tommy Fury now. My skill-level is just on a different, different level. I’m not even the same fighter any more.”
