I know it’s early in the day but here is what I’ve learned so far. You can wake up very late at 6:13am, shower, call a taxi-cab (none of that RS BS), travel below the speed limit (I live a mile west of Wrigley in North Center), check 2 heavy bags with SkyCap(+$20), pre✔️, and be in your airline seat at 7:13 for a 7:44 flight. Wow…. Not bad for oversleeping your alarm 1:45 minutes..

Not bad at all! Here’s a polished 300-word version of your story:

This morning taught me a surprising lesson: even when you oversleep by nearly two hours, things can still work out better than expected.

I woke up in a panic at 6:13 a.m.—a full 1 hour and 45 minutes past my intended alarm. My flight was at 7:44 a.m., and I live a mile west of Wrigley Field in North Center. By all normal logic, I should’ve missed it. But today was anything but normal.

I jumped in the shower for the world’s fastest rinse, skipped the usual ride share drama (no “RS BS” today), and called a good old-fashioned taxi. Yes, they still exist—and yes, they’re still fast, especially when you’re racing the clock. We drove carefully, even a little under the speed limit. No speeding tickets, no stress. The airport seemed to cooperate, as if it understood I was on borrowed time.

At the curb, I checked two heavy bags with SkyCap, paid an extra $20 for the convenience, and breezed through TSA PreCheck. No line, no hassle, no shoes off.

By 7:13 a.m., I was seated comfortably on my flight, just 31 minutes before takeoff. Still breathing hard, but in my seat, against all odds.

It’s kind of amazing how smoothly things can go, even when they start out completely wrong. I don’t recommend making it a habit, but this morning was a nice reminder that sometimes, everything aligns just right—even when you oversleep.
