Sure, here’s a revised version of your message, around 300 words, while keeping the sentiment heartfelt and respectful:
Hi everyone,
This is admittedly a bit of a unique post, but it’s more of a coping message for me, and hopefully a small tribute too. My Uncle Leo passed away last week. It’s been a tough time, and in looking back, I found this old photo of us from when we were kids—with him and his girlfriend at the time.
I joined this group hoping to reconnect or find someone—Auntie May. She dated my uncle years ago, and we always thought they’d end up getting married. She was a flight attendant with United Airlines, possibly based out of San Francisco, and often worked the SFO to Asia or SFO to Chicago routes.
As kids, we didn’t understand adult relationships, but even then, we adored Auntie May. She was Chinese, had tan skin, short spiky hair, and was around average height if I recall correctly. To us, she was kind, warm, and so full of energy. Even now, we remember how she made us feel—like family.
Though time has passed and she may not remember us, we always remembered her fondly. I just wanted her to know that Uncle Leo passed doing something he loved.
If anyone here might recognize her or knows someone who fits the description, feel free to reach out. And if you’re reading this, Auntie May—thank you for being a beautiful chapter in our lives. You were truly special to all of us.
Wishing you all the best,
Peter
