On November 29th, Crunchyroll, the prominent global anime platform, unveiled its plans to bring ‘Solo Leveling,’ the eagerly awaited anime adaptation of the popular Korean manhwa by Chugong and illustrator DUBU (REDICE Studio), to select theaters in Western Europe for exclusive premiere screenings next month. Produced by A-1 Pictures in Japan, the series is poised to be a flagship title for Crunchyroll’s upcoming season.
Scheduled to be available for streaming on Crunchyroll in January 2024, ‘Solo Leveling’ will treat fans to special screenings of its first two episodes, totaling 44 minutes, in three major European cities:
– Paris, France, at Le Grand Rex on December 11
– Berlin, Germany, at the Colosseum on December 12
– London, U.K., at Cineworld Leicester Square on December 13
The storyline follows Sung Jinwoo, who, after facing a brutal demise at the hands of monsters in a high-ranking dungeon, reemerges imbued with the System, an exclusive program guiding his unparalleled progression. Motivated to unravel the mysteries surrounding his newfound powers and the dungeon’s origins, Jinwoo embarks on a quest for understanding.
Animated by A-1 Pictures (known for ‘Sword Art Online’) and featuring motion graphics by Production I.G (‘Attack on Titan,’ ‘PSYCHO-PASS’), ‘Solo Leveling’ boasts direction by Shunsuke Nakashige (‘Sword Art Online’). The creative team includes music by Hiroyuki Sawano (‘Attack on Titan’) and K-pop band TOMORROW X TOGETHER, character design by Tomoko Sudo, and monster design by Hirotaka Tokuda.
