Red Bull’s decline in form during the 2024 season, which saw McLaren clinch the Constructors’ Championship, has raised concerns. Verstappen acknowledged the challenges, stating, “If we continue like this, I won’t be champion next year” . The team’s RB20 car struggled with consistency, prompting Verstappen to emphasize the need for significant improvements in the upcoming RB21 model.
Internal turmoil has further complicated matters. The departure of key personnel, including designer Adrian Newey and sporting director Jonathan Wheatley, coupled with controversies surrounding team principal Christian Horner, have unsettled the team. Verstappen’s close relationship with advisor Helmut Marko has also come into focus.
