Angela Cullen, Lewis Hamilton’s former performance coach and close confidante, recently shared her perspective on the seven-time world champion’s challenging 2025 season with Ferrari. According to Cullen, while the transition to Ferrari has been demanding, it’s actually an improvement compared to his final year with Mercedes. “There’s a renewed energy in Lewis,” she noted, suggesting that the change of environment and new team dynamics have brought a fresh spark to his racing spirit.
However, Cullen also pointed out that Hamilton may be struggling with distractions outside the paddock, particularly due to his romantic relationship. “Lewis is always at his best when he’s fully focused,” she said. “Right now, his mind seems divided, which is affecting his on-track performance.”
Despite this, Cullen remains optimistic. She believes Hamilton still possesses the drive and talent to overcome these obstacles. “He’s been through ups and downs before — this is just another chapter in his journey,” she added.
With Ferrari steadily improving and Hamilton still adapting, Cullen emphasized that the full potential of this partnership has yet to be realized. “The car is better, the passion is there. All Lewis needs now is clarity and focus,” she concluded.
